Start of Works on the Expansion of the Public Water Supply System in Zagreb County

As part of the EU project of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO) "Expansion of the Public Water Supply System in Zagreb County," the works in the area of Gornji Tkalec near Vrbovec were officially opened. The event was attended by the Zagreb County Prefect Stjepan Kožić, the Mayor of Vrbovec Denis Kralj, the General Director of Croatian Waters Zoran Đuroković, the Deputy General Director Davor Vukmirić, and the Director of the Water Supply and Drainage of Zagreb County Ltd. Tomislav Masten.
The General Director of Croatian Waters, Zoran Đuroković, emphasized that Zagreb County has the highest implementation of projects and added that with the opening of these works in the county, 450 kilometers of water supply pipes will be constructed or renovated.
The total value of the project amounts to EUR 16,107,479.08, with eligible costs amounting to EUR 12,885,983.26. The grant funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan cover 80% of the eligible costs, which is EUR 10,308,786.60, while the remaining 20% of eligible costs, or EUR 2,577,196.66, are co-financed equally by Croatian Waters and the Water Supply and Drainage of Zagreb County Ltd., each contributing EUR 1,288,598.33.
Zagreb County is the first county in the Republic of Croatia by the development index, and nine settlements in the Vrbovec area will receive modern and reliable infrastructure, significantly improving the quality of life for citizens and ensuring the sustainable development of the local community.
