Municipality of Tivat Receives Photovoltaic Power Plant on Administrative Building Roof

The Municipality of Tivat has successfully implemented a project to install a photovoltaic power plant on the roof of the Municipality building, marking a significant step towards increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. Funding for the project was provided under the APOLLO project, implemented through the Interreg IPA Croatia–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Montenegro 2021–2027 programme.

The goal of the APOLLO project is to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the cross-border area by creating interconnected communities for energy management and green investments as part of the implementation of interregional solutions for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the public sector.

“By installing the photovoltaic power plant, the production of electricity from renewable sources has been enabled, which will contribute to reducing electricity consumption as well as lowering harmful gas emissions. This project represents an important example of responsible resource management and the application of sustainable solutions in the work of local government,” the Municipality of Tivat emphasised.

The total value of the project is €2,262,234.00, while the amount allocated to the Municipality of Tivat is €478,182.60.

“The Municipality of Tivat continues to actively participate in international projects that promote green energy, environmental protection, and sustainable development, with the aim of improving citizens’ quality of life and creating an environmentally responsible local community,” the Municipality highlighted.

The lead project partner is the Development Agency of Zadar County, ZADRA NOVA. Other partners include the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia, the Public Institution Development Agency of West Herzegovina Canton – HERAG, and the City of Mostar.
