BEYOND final conference: Integrated planning of offshore wind farms for sustainable development of the Adriatic
The Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds is organizing the final conference of the BEYOND project, which will be held on June 11, 2026 at the Rector's Palace in Zadar.
The conference represents the final event of the BEYOND project, which is implemented within the framework of the Interreg Italy - Croatia 2021 - 2027 Programme, with the aim of promoting a sustainable approach to planning offshore wind farms in the Adriatic Sea area. The day before the conference, on June 10, a partnership meeting of the project partners will be held, dedicated to reviewing the project activities, achieved results and the final steps of the project implementation.
The conference will bring together representatives of institutions, development agencies, scientific and research organizations and the economic sector from Croatia and Italy, as well as experts in the fields of energy, environmental protection, maritime spatial planning and the blue economy.
Through expert presentations and panel discussions, participants will consider the possibilities of developing offshore wind farms in the Adriatic, the legislative and regulatory framework for the implementation of such projects, their impact on the marine environment and the potential for strengthening the blue economy by connecting energy with other economic activities.
The BEYOND project is developing an integrated planning model for offshore wind farms that takes into account energy potential, natural resource protection, socio-economic impacts and long-term sustainability of coastal development. The conference will provide an opportunity to present project results and exchange experiences and good practices among relevant stakeholders from Croatia and Italy.
The BEYOND project is co-financed by the Interreg Italy - Croatia Programme 2021 - 2027.
