Ninth edition of EuroSchool brings together young people from all around Azerbaijan

From 29-31 July, the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan conducted the 9th edition of the EuroSchool, which took place in Shamakhi city.

Eighteen participants from Baku, Balakan, Sumgayit, Khazcmaz, Khankendi, Sheki, and Ganja participated in the EuroSchool along with Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Azerbaijan and from Spain, Italy, and Poland.

Participants had a chance in an interactive educational environment to learn more about the EU, its history, fundamental principles and values, the Eastern Partnership initiative, and EU-Azerbaijan relations as well as issues of energy and environment, tackling disinformation and fake news, etc.

Representatives of the EU NEIGHBOURS East Programme introduced participants to the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ network that connects youth from the EU Member States and the Eastern Partnership countries, including Azerbaijan. YEAs from Azerbaijan organised a discussion on the EU and its role for youth in Europe and in the Eastern Partnership countries, and opportunities for young people across the region, including in education.

Participants received a certificate and were suggested to become members of the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ network.

The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
