Greece-North Macedonia: EU-funded works for Markova Noga-Lemos border crossing begin

The works in Greece will include the construction of a new customs and police control building in Lemos, as well as the renovation of the existing police station in Markova Noga.
Macedonian Interior Minister Toskovski bellies and the Greek counterpart Theodoros Livanios are today in Prespes, Greece, for the start of the works financed by the European Union to reopen the border crossing between the two countries at Markova Noga-Lemos, Skopje press reports. Two million euros have been allocated for the works on the Macedonian side of a new customs building at the Markova Noga border crossing, which is scheduled for completion in 2026.
Work in Greece will include the construction of a new customs and police control building in Lemos and the renovation of the current police station in Markova Noga. €7,7 million has been allocated for this purpose. The EU's double funding for the border crossing is intended to boost the economic development of the region.
