More than 400.000 euros for the reconstruction of the "Ivan Vušović" school in Nikšić

Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro Judy Rising Reinke visited the "Ivan Vušović" Elementary School in the Vidrovan neighborhood in Nikšić.
On this occasion, the results of a joint school reconstruction project were presented, implemented by the US Embassy in Montenegro in cooperation with the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.
The USA is financing the construction works, while the Ministry is providing funds for the preparation of project documentation, supervision and additional works that are not included in the donation, but are necessary for the full functionality of the facility.
"The project included works that included the replacement of interior and exterior joinery, complete reconstruction of the toilet, replacement of electrical installations, and painting and decorating works. At the school's initiative, the procedure for approving an additional donation is currently underway to replace the sports surface in the gym, which would complete the reconstruction of the facility," the Ministry announced.
The total investment value exceeds 400.000 euros.
"This valuable investment is the result of a strong partnership and long-standing cooperation with the Embassy of the United States of America, which continuously supports the improvement of educational infrastructure in Montenegro. We are grateful for this support, which directly affects the quality of education and the experience of children in schools. The reconstruction of the 'Ivan Vušović' school is part of the Ministry's broader investment cycle, aimed at providing safer, more modern and more stimulating conditions for learning throughout Montenegro," said Minister Jakšić Stojanović.
"The United States believes that the future of Montenegro lies in the hands of its young people, and we are very proud to support the renovation of the Ivan Vušović Elementary School. This project is a testament to our commitment to empowering future generations through education. As a NATO ally, Montenegro plays an important role in our shared security, and we are proud to support it in building a brighter future," said Ambassador Reising Reinke.
