More and Better Services for the Community of Shkodra from a Refurbished Multifunctional Center
The Municipality of Shkodra inaugurated the reconstruction and refurbishment of the premises of the Xixëllonjat Multifunctional Center, an investment of the European Union through the EU4Municipalities Grant Scheme. Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, and Head of the Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union in Tirana, Hubert Perr, unveiled the inaugural plaque.
“We want to be able to offer you better living and services, and we think that this program (EU4Municipalities) is an example of our commitment to make this happen,” said Mr. Perr.
Today, the transformation of the premises of the Xixëlonjat Multifunctional Community Center is fundamental. But, in addition to the infrastructure, during the implementation of the project, the young people of city neighborhoods No. 1 and 2 in Shkodra were involved in educational and recreational activities as part of a development program created for them. In addition, promotional activities on EU values were developed, and seven municipal employees who work with vulnerable groups were trained.
