Montenegro gets an additional €8.1 million from the Growth Plan
Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The ministries of European affairs and finance announced that the European Commission (EC) has approved the disbursement of the second tranche of funds from the Growth Plan for Montenegro, amounting to €8.1 million.
According to a press release from the ministries, this is a result of Montenegro’s implementation of commitments under the Reform Agenda.
“A corresponding portion of €3.8 million has been transferred to the state budget, while the remaining €4.3 million will be allocated to infrastructure projects that Montenegro has proposed under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF),” the press release reads.
These funds are the result of significant reform progress across multiple areas, from spatial planning and alignment with the internal electricity market rules to reforms of the social and child protection system.
In addition, Montenegrin institutions have made progress in reforms of inspection services, implementation of measures for electricity market integration, reduction of gender-based violence, improvement of energy efficiency, and balancing results in combating organized crime.
