EU and Council of Europe conclude ‘Support to justice reform in Armenia’ project
On 10 February, the EU Delegation to Armenia announced the successful completion of the ‘Support to Justice Reform in Armenia’ project funded by the EU and Council of Europe as part of the ‘Partnership for Good Governance’ initiative.
The ‘Support to the justice reform in Armenia’ project was conducted from March 2023 to February 2026 with a total budget of €1.43 million.
The project strengthened institutional capacities, aligned legal frameworks with Council of Europe standards, and fostered professionalism, independence, and accountability within the justice system, contributing to the rule of law and democratic resilience in Armenia.
“This initiative showed that justice reform is ultimately about people – their rights, their trust in institutions, and their confidence that justice is fair, accessible, and effective,” the EU Delegation to Armenia posted on Facebook. “The EU acknowledges strong ownership, openness, and commitment of the Armenian institutions. Through dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared vision of European standards, we have translated reform priorities into concrete action.”
The Delegation added that the EU and Council of Europe would remain trusted partners in supporting Armenia’s ongoing reforms.
