Six contracts were signed for the rehabilitation of water structures in the Banovina area

Six contracts for the rehabilitation of water structures in the area of the small Banovina basin were signed in Sisak today after the earthquake, and after the signing, the guests visited the embankment in the Sisak settlement of Galdovo. The contracts were signed by the General Manager of Hrvatske vode Zoran Đuroković with representatives of selected contractors: Binđo d.o.o., Sokol d.o.o., Vodoprivreda Zagorje d.o.o. and Brodska Posavina d.d. The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved, Sisak-Moslavina County Prefect Ivan Celjak, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Mario Šiljeg, State Secretary of the Central State Office for Reconstruction and Housing Gordan Hanžek, Deputy Director General Croatian Waters Davor Vukmirić and other experts in water management and representatives of Sisak-Moslavina County.

The value of the signed contracts is HRK 83,617,955.75 including VAT, and they are financed from the European Union Solidarity Fund for financing the rehabilitation of earthquake damage based on a public call from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development "Ensuring prevention infrastructure damaged by earthquakes". The total value of activities performed in 2021 amounts to HRK 30,705,838.92, while in 2022 and 2023 it is planned to perform works in the amount of HRK 108,355,830.75.

The contracts signed today cover six locations of damage: the left bank embankment of the Sava River in Galdovo, the right bank embankment of the river Kupa in Krnjica, the left bank embankment of the Sava River in Palanjek, the right bank embankment of the river Kupa upstream of the Petrinjčica estuary, the left bank embankment Sava and Hras the left bank embankment of the Petrinjčica river in Petrinja.

We remind that after the earthquake on December 28 and 29, 2020, damage was observed to the existing regulatory and protective water structures in the protected area of the small Banovina basin in Sisak-Moslavina County and the danger of collapse of flood defense facilities in some microlocations was observed. as well as the real danger of floods in the event of high water levels. This Call will reimburse funds for operations in the field of protection against harmful effects of water for implemented emergency remediation measures, status assessment services, establishment of the second line of flood protection by installing box barriers, construction of access roads, preparation of project-technical documentation for remediation and the rehabilitation of regulatory and protective water structures damaged by the earthquake.
