BRUSSELS APPROVES ADDITIONAL EUR 10 MILLION TO CROATIA TO HELP THE MOST VULNERABLE

The European Commission today approved an additional 10m euros to Croatia to continue helping the most vulnerable in food and basic necessities.

According to Hina, the additional aid is intended for "the most needy, including those affected by the coronavirus pandemic and two devastating earthquakes in 2020," according to the European Commission. These people will receive help with hot meals and basic necessities, such as hygiene products and school supplies.

The funds were allocated from the European Aid Fund for the Most Deprived (FEAD), which supports the activities of member states in providing food and basic material assistance to the most vulnerable. Assistance to Croatia is part of a larger package of 336m euros under the REACT-EU program, also aimed at Germany, France and Greece.
