UNICEF DONATED PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR HEALTH WORKERS TO THE MINISTRY OF CIVIL AFFAIRS OF BIH
Sarajevo, February 4, 2022: UNICEF presented a donation of $ 335,500 to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was received through the UNICEF Supply Division in Copenhagen.
The donation of protective equipment is intended for healthcare professionals who work with COVID-19 patients, and consists of sets of protective masks, gloves, coats, goggles, footwear, as well as of face and body coveralls.
The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will distribute this donation proportionally to the authorities in the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska and the Brcko District, from where it will be further distributed to health institutions.
UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been working with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, assisting the authorities in the field of crisis communication, COVID-19 vaccination, providing protective equipment, instructions and equipment for schools and health facilities, supporting children's and families’ mental health, as well as the procurement of protective equipment for social workers, and emergency procurement of necessary means of protection, vaccines and equipment for the cold chain. UNICEF is also the logistical coordinator for the procurement of vaccines, which arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the COVAX mechanism.
