Ukraine Energy Support Fund: €8.8 million of equipment procured to strengthen energy resilience in last two months

Almost €8.8 million of equipment and materials, including for critical energy infrastructure, were procured for Ukraine under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund during the period April-May 2025.
In April, goods procured consisted of equipment and machines, mostly allocated to benefit healthcare facilities under the ‘Ray of Hope’ initiative, which aims to implement solar energy projects for hospitals across the country.
Goods procured in May included transformers, equipment/machines. and switchgear,
distributed to support key sectors of Ukraine’s energy system.
These tangible results are the outcome of joint efforts made possible thanks to the Fund’s donors and its efficient cooperation with stakeholders in Ukraine and partners worldwide. In April 2025, thanks to international solidarity and support, the Fund received almost €3 million in contributions.
The Energy Community Secretariat continues to ensure efficient and transparent administration of the Fund, focusing on constant improvement of its operation, not just in providing rapid response to emergency situations, but also in modernising the energy system of Ukraine. To date, the Fund has mobilised more than €1.16 billion in pledges from 33 donors, contributing to resilience, green future and accelerated integration of Ukraine to the EU energy market.
As recovery needs remain urgent and Russian attacks are ongoing, the gap between mobilised funds and identified support remains significant, and is currently estimated at approximately €600 million. The Energy Community Secretariat calls on all current and potential donors to increase their contributions and join this collective effort to safeguard the region’s energy security and ensure Ukraine’s sustainable future of Ukraine.
