The 'Russian connection' is active again: As Moscow reports...

With its nebula about the coup d'état and the violent change of government in Serbia, Russia is letting Europe know that it is still present in Serbia and that it has an influence on the events there.
Russia, the country that militarily attacked the sovereign territory of Ukraine, despite the big problems it is facing on the front, is dealing with the situation in the country that is the only one in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on it. And not the first time, but for the umpteenth time. Moscow officially informed Belgrade that a coup d'état, i.e. a violent change of government, is being prepared at the protests against lithium mining in Serbia.
As it happens according to a well-established mantra, Belgrade thanked Moscow for the information and took the position that such a thing would not happen. The Russians embellished all this with the story of a colored revolution, because they cannot get over the one, the orange one in Ukraine.
Several top government officials, including Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, have made it clear to the public who they got the information from that confirmed their weeks of pathetic whining about how opponents of lithium mining don't want to fight Rio Tinto, which is set to open the mine. but that they want to violently overthrow the legally elected government, above all the president of the state.
The Russians are constantly shaking the cage in the Balkans, especially in Serbia. Their interest in Serbia is huge, as well as their influence, which makes many people wave their hands. What is not forgiven to the West, is hailed to Russia. The problem is that Vučić and Moscow focused on only one side of the story about the protests against lithium mining. Both centers of power see only those opponents of lithium who represent the pro-Western part of society in Serbia, regardless of the fact that there are no protests where they do not cheer for Russia, that is, fiercely attack the EU.
Moscow is interested in the crisis in Serbia
A large part of these protests are made up of nationalist "elements" that are directly financed by official Belgrade and Moscow. No one attacked Serbian right-wingers for being traitors to the people and foreign mercenaries when they participated in those protests. The targets of the strongest attacks of this type are Dragan Đilas, the president of the opposition Party of Freedom and Justice, and Dragan Šolak, the founder of the United Group. No one mentions the leader of Obraz, "Nestor's witnesses" or the leaders of the supporters who have been hiding from the judicial authorities for years in the surrounding countries.
Moscow's warning came during the second visit of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin in a very short time. It is clear that Vulin became a direct medium for communication between Belgrade and Moscow. At the same time, he is trusted by both Vučić and Vladimir Putin.
The bottom line is that Moscow is also interested in the lithium crisis in Serbia. He is probably not in a position to get directly involved in the "lithium fever", as one of the parties interested in digging and mining, but its influence on the energy system of Serbia is such that Belgrade depends on Putin's will and mood. Moscow is completely satisfied with the anti-European concept of the current protests in Serbia, and of course it will add enough fuel to that fire.
With her nebula about the coup d'état and the violent change of government in Serbia, she is letting Europe know that she is still present in Serbia and that she has an influence on the events there. And what wouldn't be the case when the state leadership of Serbia openly talks about the fact that foreign services are working against Serbia, and that it is not Russia. Unlike Vučić, who was not allowed to say which services those were, his closest associates specified that they were German and British services. The question that arises is how it is that Germany wants the protests against lithium to succeed, and then Serbia, together with Germany, starts the implementation of the "Jadar" project.
Extremely strong 'Russian connection' is worrying
The problem is that Europe is silently looking at this connection between Serbia and Russia. Nobody says a word, and the authorities in Belgrade, instead of covering their ears in shame when they thank Moscow for the information, continue to successfully oppose the EU and its punitive policy towards Russia for its aggression against Ukraine.
We don't know whether Brussels is acting crazy because of that damned lithium or something else, but we see that Moscow announced itself because of the protests in Serbia, but not, for example, because of the announcement of the opening of the bridge on the Ibar River that connects the northern and southern parts of Mitrovica. Vučić, who for some reason is in a hurry with the "Jadar" project, knows all this well.
Perhaps the most interesting thing in this whole case of informing Serbia is the fact that both Belgrade and Moscow turned out to be more than funny, because of course no violent change of government was planned, nor will it be. Another case is political abuse and marketing, which promptly react to such spin stories.
It is certainly worrying that the "Russian connection" is still extremely strong in Serbia and that Vučić is, in all likelihood, more ready to turn Serbia into a mining colony to be ruled by foreigners than to impose sanctions on Russia for aggression against Ukraine. Time will tell how they will all behave in the continuation of the story about lithium, but the fact is that the lightest metal of all from Mendeleev's system is becoming an increasing problem, especially according to Vučić, because no topic has united the people to such an extent.
Since that is the case, it is best to get away with empty but effective coup d'état stories. It always works with people who are more willing to pay many times more money to vote for the winner of a reality show than to treat a child. Even if Moscow announces it, success is guaranteed.
