The European Union will donate 10m euros to the BiH Armed Forces
The European Union will help strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed for our portal Bisera Turkovic, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
Turkovic is in Brussels where he will meet with senior EU officials, including Oliver Varhelji, the commissioner for enlargement, as well as EU foreign ministers, representatives of the European Parliament and other influential officials.
"This is an extremely important decision that will strengthen the capacity and capabilities of our Armed Forces, and will be implemented through the new EU instrument 'The European Peace Facility,'" said Turkovic.
The instrument aims to increase the EU's ability to prevent conflicts, preserve peace and strengthen international stability and security, and the total budget of this instrument IS 5 billion euros for 2021-2027.
As we find out, the EU has decided to donate 10 million euros to the AF BiH in the first phase, in order to strengthen its demining capacities, which will certainly help the AF BiH to be even more efficient in demining contaminated areas and thus saving lives, but also creating opportunities for return. people and possible investment in the economy.
