A visit to the Royal Imaging Center in Pristina enabled representatives of the European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to understand closely how international support for the private clinic is contributing to improving the medical service of the local population.

The clinic was established in April 2019 in order to provide medical services, with a main focus on orthopedic and neurosurgical health problems.

Upon successful establishment, the clinic invested in new medical devices, which now enable it to offer a full range of diagnostics and services and identify health problems with great accuracy.

The investment was financed by the EU and the EBRD through the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Competitiveness Support Program through a 300,000 euro loan provided through ProCredit Bank in Kosovo and a 15 percent financial grant upon successful completion of the EU-funded project verification.

In addition, the Royal Imaging Center company benefited from technical assistance to optimize the investment project ", it is said in the announcement.

"I am just happy to see that the Royal Imaging Center has gained so much from our support.

The EU is offering SMEs in Kosovo a unique opportunity to overcome what hinders them in developing their business.

I hope that together we can write as many success stories as possible ", said Annacarin Platon, Deputy Head of the EU Office in Kosovo.

"Since medicine is an ever-moving science, investing in new diagnostic tools makes a big difference in the quality of patient treatment.

"Reducing the time of diagnosing diseases, thus reducing the cost of treatment, for low-income countries like Kosovo, makes a big difference", said dr.

Talat Gjinolli from Royal Imaging Center.

To date, more than 70 small and medium-sized enterprises in Kosovo have received funding through the EU / EBRD Competitiveness Program.

The total value of the supported projects is almost 20 million euros.

The program combines loans, grants and consulting in order to increase the competitiveness of local small businesses.

"Access to well-structured financing allows SMEs to invest in new equipment, facilities and services to move closer to EU standards and become more competitive.

"EU grants make these investments more affordable and we will continue to work together with the EU and our partner banks to further expand our support so that more companies in Kosovo can benefit," said Neil Taylor. Head of the EBRD office in Kosovo.

With the help of the SME Competitiveness Support Program in Kosovo, Royal Imaging invested in magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, DEXA / bone densitometry and diagnostic ultrasound.

In addition to providing advanced medical and diagnostic services to patients, the new equipment also provides a high level of occupational safety for clinic staff.
