The Dubrava water tower was built as part of the project of a new water supply system in the east of Zagreb County

The 57-ton Dubrava water tower with a capacity of 350 m3 was ceremoniously erected, which will serve to maintain the pressure in the water supply network in the area of the municipalities of Dubrava and Farkaševac, and the total value of the works is 755,000 euros.
The construction of the Dubrava water tower is part of the EU project "Regional water supply system of Zagreb County - Zagreb East" worth more than 93 million euros.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County Damir Tomljenović, General Director of Croatian Waters Zoran Đuroković, Mayor of Dubrava Municipality Tomislav Okroša and Director of Water Supply and Drainage of Zagreb County Tomislav Masten.
The project "Regional water supply system of Zagreb County - Zagreb East" is a public investment project and relates to the construction of the Kosnica water pumping station and the reconstruction and construction of the water supply system in the area of the eastern part of Zagreb County. The main purpose of the Project is to ensure high-quality drinking water intended for human consumption with the aim of increasing connection to the water supply network, reducing losses and increasing the reliability of supply and efficiency of the public water supply system.
"This is one of the largest water supply projects in Croatia, which is being built with the support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and co-financing with European funds, and the local financing component is very small, about 6%. With this, the local community received huge benefits with very little investment. What is ultimately and most important is that with this project we will build 425 km of water supply pipelines, of which 315 km will be new and 110 km will be reconstructed. The system will reduce the losses, which are now at the level of 30%, and will fall to a level below 20%. Also, 30,000 new residents will be connected to the system", said the general director of Hrvatske vode, Zoran Đuroković. He added that such a large investment raises the level of connection of the local population to 80-90%, which brings us closer to the standard in the Republic of Croatia, which is in step with the standards of the European Union.

The investor of the project "Regional water supply system of Zagreb County - Zagreb East" is Vodoopspkrba i odvnja Zagrebačka županija d.o.o., and its total value is €93,849,394.00 (HRK 707,108,262.00) excluding VAT. The project ends in August 2024, when all pipelines should be put into operation.

"This is the fourth of five water towers that we will build as part of the project, and we need it so that the water supply system in the area of Vrbovac and its surroundings can function," said the director of the company, Tomislav Masten. The area of the Municipality of Dubrava was poorly covered by the water supply system at the beginning of the project. "It was about 14 km of water supply network with about 130 connections in the territory of the entire municipality. In addition to these facilities, they are getting 54 km of new network and will have 1,150 connections. Several settlements remain to be covered, which will be carried out from other funds. "Vrbovec and the surrounding municipalities had a coverage of 37
