The city of Vienna presented the firefighters of Sarajevo with two special fire trucks
In Vienna, there was a handover of two fire trucks, which were handed over to Sarajevo firefighters by the Mayor of the City of Vienna, Michael Ludwig. This valuable donation will make the fight against fires even easier and increase the safety of all citizens.

The vehicles represent one of a series of donations that the City of Vienna has given to Sarajevo firefighters in recent years. The City of Vienna sent the first fire trucks to Sarajevo in 1997/98. year. In the last few years, cooperation has become closer, so since 2014, a total of eleven vehicles have been handed over to the firefighting units in Sarajevo Canton (professional and volunteer firefighting societies).
The last such donation was in October 2020, when two firefighting vehicles and one telescopic platform were delivered to Sarajevo. All these vehicles are in use. This time, the Sarajevo firefighters were given two special fire trucks equipped for firefighting and accident intervention, which will increase the efficiency of the fire service in Sarajevo and the surrounding area. Both vehicles were originally in use by the Vienna Fire Department and disaster protection service.
Mayor Michael Ludwig emphasizes the importance of this project: "Firefighters are highly valued all over the world." Therefore, it is important to provide them with the necessary equipment for their work." Also, in the context of training, the exchange of experiences among firefighters is of great importance. Vienna city government member Peter Hanke adds: "We are all aware of the dangers firefighters face on the ground. Therefore, we want these fire trucks not only to provide safety to citizens, but also to make firefighters’ jobs easier."
"It is extremely important to strengthen the capacity and equip the fire services. KUCZ KS continuously modernizes its equipment and vehicles, but due to the specificity of the work, any help is welcome. Donated vehicles will greatly help in the realization of all obligations and tasks that are put before the Sarajevo firefighters. We hope that this successful practice will continue in the future," says the director of the Cantonal Administration of Civil Protection, Dženan Brkanić.
