Switzerland has donated forest firefighting equipment to the Berovo Region

The Swiss Embassy and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation today handed over the donation for dealing with forest fires to the members of the fire brigade in Berovo.

Through this donation, the fire brigade received four new firefighting vehicles, equipment for firefighters, a drone, as well as drone firefighter training.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Fighting Corruption, Ljupco Nikolovski, who pointed out that such a donation is especially important for the Maleshevo Region, for the safety of citizens and protection of forests from fires.

- The new firefighting vehicles, as well as the entire donation from our international supporters, are extremely important not only for the staff of the Berovo Territorial Firefighting Unit, but also for the safety of citizens in urban and rural areas, firefighters and environmental protection - said Deputy Prime Minister.

In her address, the Swiss Ambassador, Sibil Suter Tejada, emphasized the importance of the Regional Plan for Forest Advancement in the Maleshevo Region, as a strategic development plan prepared with a participatory approach, which establishes the basis for sustainable forest and forest land management. region.
