Minister of Education Branko Ruzic and European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel opened today the Resource Centre at the School for Primary and Secondary Education "Milan Petrovic" with home of students in Novi Sad.
Resource centre in Novi Sad step further in process of introducing inclusive education
On that occasion, Ruzic pointed to the support received from partners, for which he expressed his gratitude to the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, which enabled the implementation of this project with a budget of €4.5 million.
The mentioned project is implemented in partnership with the UNICEF Office in Serbia, which allocated €250,000 for this purpose.
The Minister of Education reminded that this school is one of ten educational institutions in Serbia that received the status of a resource centre last year.
Ruzic stated that through the establishment and development of resource centres, effective, professional and timely support will be provided to typical schools for the implementation of inclusive education policies and practices.
Gabriel presented the school with equipment consisting of assistive technology, which children with developmental disabilities need in the learning process.
She and Director of UNICEF in Serbia Deyana Kostadinova supported the efforts of this school to ensure equal opportunities and access to education for every child.
