I will speak from the aspect of security-integration and defense segment. Regardless of all that Serbia, as a clear branch of Moscow, is doing in the area of the Western Balkans, they somehow see us in the West as a background, they absolutely do not look back at the serious deep action of Moscow. What we can, and from some official NATO sources, not only read but analyze through research professional discourses, is that regardless of the segment of Ukraine, Crimea, and everything that is happening in this, no longer a hybrid war, but now a special the war being waged in the Western Balkans is simply out of focus, to put it mildly, we have been forgotten.

At the time of the military exercise of the American forces and the Armed Forces of BiH on Manjača, there was no media coverage of this in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are all talking about non-paper, we are all talking about Vučić ..., simply this special war Moscow, together with its branches in Belgrade and Banja Luka, under the regime of Milorad Dodik and the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, is waging in the Western Balkans.

The large amount of misinformation that is presented to the public when it comes to NATO's military security activities with partners in the Western Balkans needs to be classified, misinformation (fake news), misinformation (conscious and unconscious), post truth and misinformation, and my recommendations are just going in that direction.

Misinformation is, as we know, the deliberate spreading of false information with the aim of causing harm. A large number of them are, indeed, marketed through pro-Russian regional houses such as Sputnik and Rusia Today, especially for our region. But what takes on an even bigger problem is that more than 90 per cent of the media and portals in the Republika Srpska entity transmit them knowingly without any scrutiny, especially the RS public service (s).

Subversive intelligence games

The latest analysis of such Russian narratives and tendencies towards the Western Balkans is very well presented in the last edition of Stratcom's publication from the end of 2020, which reveals in detail the narratives and methods of making, publishing and spreading misinformation by Sputnik Srbije.

When a media presents that a military exercise of the US Forces and the BiH Armed Forces is an exercise, or avoids saying that it is part of the entire exercise conducted as part of the "Defender of Europe 2021" and "Quick Response" exercises, it should be clearly stated that misinformation and / or partial information placed in order to minimize the effect and send the message that should have been sent by this exercise. One of the better answers to such and similar forms are co-narratives that precisely refute such partial, incomplete or intentionally placed misinformation.

I follow the work of professional research centers and, unfortunately for the Western Balkans, NATO is currently focused on the Baltic, Poland and now the Czech Republic, Austria, the subversive intelligence games that are being conducted, and even in Hungary. I don't know how much we can really do to alert the United States, that is, the European Union, as it is, to understand that, as already mentioned, serious incidents can occur, unfortunately. None of the normal people want that, but there are a lot of abnormal people who want armed conflicts and wars.
