Ministry of Finance Reconstructs "Idadija" Polyclinic – Investment Worth More Than 31 Million Denars 

The reconstruction of the Skopje Health Centre – "Idadija" Polyclinic has commenced, representing an investment worth more than 31 million denars. The project, "Reconstruction of the Skopje Health Centre – Idadija Polyclinic with Energy Efficiency Improvement Measures," is being implemented under the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project (PSEEP) by the Project Implementation Unit at the Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) – World Bank and the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF). 

The grant agreement between the Skopje Health Centre and the Ministry of Finance was signed in December 2025. Following the completion of the public procurement procedure, a contract with the selected contractor, valued at MKD 31,028,850, was signed in March 2026, after which construction works officially began. 

The reconstruction will provide the facility with modern energy-efficient solutions, improve working conditions for medical staff, and ensure higher-quality conditions for patients. 

Built in 1975, the Idadija Polyclinic had operated for more than four decades with outdated infrastructure, lacking adequate thermal insulation, using worn-out façade joinery, an inefficient heating system, and obsolete lighting. This resulted in high energy consumption and increased operating and maintenance costs. 

The reconstruction is being carried out on the basis of a previously completed energy audit and a detailed design project. The works include the installation of a new thermal insulation façade and roof insulation, complete replacement of the external windows and doors, modernization of the central heating system, installation of energy-efficient LED lighting, and reconstruction of the electrical installations. 

The project is expected to significantly reduce electricity and heating energy consumption, lower the facility's operating costs, improve working conditions for healthcare professionals, and provide a higher-quality, safer, and more efficient healthcare environment for the thousands of citizens who use the services of the Idadija Polyclinic every day. 

The reconstruction of the Idadija Polyclinic represents another major investment in the modernization of the public healthcare system and forms part of broader efforts to upgrade public infrastructure through energy-efficient and sustainable facilities. These investments are aimed at delivering higher-quality public services while ensuring a more efficient use of public funds.
