Minister Murati signed a €60 million agreement with the French Development Agency for the "Prishtina 2030" Mediterranean Games project

Minister of Finance Hekuran Murati today signed the Loan Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the French Development Agency (AFD), amounting to €60 million, to finance the “21st Mediterranean Games in Kosovo” project.

The agreement was signed by Minister Murati, Mr. Benjamin Haddad, Minister Delegate for Europe of the French Republic, and Mr. Arnaud Dauphin, Director of AFD’s Regional Office for the Western Balkans, as part of the French minister’s official visit to Kosovo.

Through this agreement, funding will be provided for the renovation and expansion of the Student Center Complex of the University of Pristina, as well as for the construction and modernization of sports infrastructure in educational institutions across the country. More than 40,000 students and pupils are expected to benefit from the project, which will provide modern, accessible, and inclusive facilities for education and sports.

The agreement also paves the way for an additional €10 million grant from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

Following the signing ceremony, Minister Murati held a meeting with AFD representatives, during which the current cooperation and opportunities to expand the partnership in priority sectors for the country’s development were discussed. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint projects and further strengthening cooperation between Kosovo and AFD.

On this occasion, Minister Murati expressed his gratitude to the Government of France and the French Development Agency for their contribution to the realization of this agreement, emphasizing that the Ministry of Finance remains committed to further deepening cooperation with France and international partners, with a view to supporting strategic investments for the citizens of Kosovo.
