KRIVA PALANKA STATE ROAD - DEVE BAIR BORDER CROSSING PUT INTO USE

The state road A2 Kriva Palanka - BORDER CROSSING Deva Bair was officially put into use. The investment is worth 12.2 million euros, with 2.4 million secured grants and a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In addition to the complete renovation, a third lane was added at the Deva Bair BORDER CROSSING. This national road is part of the European Corridor 8.
"The realization of the road routes, which are part of Corridor 8 and Corridor 10, are of particular importance to us because investments in these two corridors are a political and economic stake in our European future. Our achievements benefit our citizens who see and appreciate it. In the last five years, for the modernization of the road network in the entire country through the construction and rehabilitation of roads, large infrastructure projects have been realized that until now were only on paper. North Macedonia is changing its face and becoming even more accessible to investors who increasingly recognize our opportunities and potential. If last year was a year of new opportunities, I expect that this year will be a year of European opportunities that will bring us closer to our European future, which we are dedicatedly working on and will continue to do," said Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dmitar Kovačevski.

"The improvement of the section of the road from Kriva Palanka to the border with Bulgaria will contribute to the economic development of the country and its regional integration by strengthening the connection with neighboring countries and the EU market. The EU remains a strong partner in all infrastructure projects that contribute to faster economic integration of the country," said Ambassador David Geer, head of the EU Delegation in North Macedonia.

The Minister of Transport and Communications of North Macedonia, Blagoj Bočvarski, emphasized that this route is part of the total investment activity of two billion euros aimed exclusively at road infrastructure.
