GGI awarded 24 regional projects receive award & start implementation

The Western Balkans Fund officially marked the start of 24 new regional projects supported through the Grants for Grassroots Initiatives, known as the GGI Grant Scheme.

The grantees received their grant certificates during the GGI Awarding Ceremony, held in the presence of Ms. Vana Vojinović, Chargé d’Affaires of Montenegro to Albania, representing the 2026 Montenegrin Presidency of the Western Balkans Fund.

The ceremony served as the highlight of a two-day Partnership Workshop, designed to prepare the newly selected grantees for the implementation phase of their projects. During the workshop, participants were introduced to the main technical, financial, outreach, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning requirements that will guide their work in the months ahead.

Through these 24 new projects, civil society organisations and grassroots actors from across the Western Balkans will work together to strengthen regional cooperation, build new partnerships, and deliver concrete results for their communities.

The Western Balkans Fund congratulates all selected project teams and looks forward to accompanying them throughout this important journey.

The GGI Grants are co-funded by the European Union, through IPA III – Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, under the Civil Society Facility and Media Programme for the Western Balkans and Türkiye.
