EU4Moldova: Jargara receives new waste management equipment

With the support of the European Union, the Municipality of Jargara in Moldova hqs received specialised waste management equipment. 

The support includes one garbage truck, a van, a bulldozer and various operational waste management equipment. The support was of a total value of €280,000.

In addition, thanks to a grant of €180.000, a selected local NGO will implement a number of additional measures, including supplying 1,900 waste collection containers, equipping the inter-municipal operator with IT equipment, connecting 10 vulnerable families and one kindergarten to the sewage network, and many more.

Thanks to efficient solid waste management, more than 13,000 inhabitants of the town of Jargara and the municipalities of Cazangic, Sărățica Nouă, Sărata Nouă, Tigheci and Băiuș will benefit from a cleaner environment.

The activities were carried out as part of ‘EU4Moldova: Local Communities’ programme, funded by the European Union, the governments of Germany, Austria and Poland. The initiative aims to improve living standards in the districts of Edineț, Strășeni and Leova.
