China is no longer restrained in its "disinterest" in Russia's war in Ukraine

It is hard to believe that such a caricature of Chinese state symbols could appear in the Ukrainian mass media. But if in China they believe that this is normal and permissible in interstate relations, then they are very much mistaken.
Recently, the influential Chinese publication Global Times, which is actually the English language version of "Renmin Zhibao" - the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, published the text "Electoral drive of American politicians leads to the withdrawal of the 'Ukrainian letter" to Biden, in which China's position is clearly expressed in connection with the Russian war in Ukraine.
The writers of this collective text are deeply saddened by the withdrawal of the letter sent to the White House by a group of 30 members of the US House of Representatives "calling on President Joe Biden to start direct negotiations with Russia to end the crisis in Ukraine".
The Global Times traditionally defines the Russian-Ukrainian war as a "crisis", thus shifting the responsibility for its initiation to both sides. Russia, which attacked Ukraine, and Ukraine itself, which had the "impertinence" to defend itself against Moscow's perfidious attacker.
The authors of the text do not care at all how many civilians in Ukraine were killed by the Russian invaders. For them, the most important thing is: "Resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic means is a pragmatic proposal." As the conflict dragged on for more than eight months, the prices of food, energy and other mass goods skyrocketed, leading to inflation around the world. Inflation in the US has even reached a 40-year high. It's a pressing domestic issue that Biden urgently needs to address, one that his Republican rivals have attacked him for. Therefore, it is in the interest of the Democratic Party and the USA to defuse the situation in Ukraine through diplomatic means instead of brutal military means, in order to avoid further consumption of American resources.
At this moment, "easing the situation in Ukraine through diplomatic means" means nothing more than an invitation to America to start negotiations with Russia on the surrender of Ukraine, despite the fact that the Ukrainians are winning on the fronts and have every chance to expel the enemies from their territory.
The Global Times further points out that "Xu Liang, an associate professor at Peking University's School of International Affairs for International Studies, believes the letter, signed by some Republicans, reflects the fact that there are people in the U.S. who are doing this because they don't want the U.S. to be drawn in for too long into a dirty war. However, the criticism of the letter and its withdrawal show that "political correctness" dominates the US.
This associate professor, without saying a single word about Putin's bloody war in Ukraine, is very saddened by the fact that in the United States there is a healthy opinion among the political establishment that it is impossible to stop aid to the Ukrainian state, which is fighting not only to preserve its independence, but also for the preservation of democratic values and principles throughout the world.
The paper writes indignantly that "it is politically correct for the United States to support Ukraine and impose sanctions on Russia without seeing room for compromises. After the start of the Ukrainian crisis, the US has no desire to play a constructive role in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. As a result, voices calling for active diplomatic pressure were immediately silenced. Apparently, there is no such thing as 'democracy' within the Democratic Party or the United States - everyone speaks with one voice."
From everything written in Global Times for Chinese, but not only for them, readers, it follows that America is encouraging the war in Ukraine with its uncompromising position and is playing an unconstructive role in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Usually in the People's Republic of China they try to conduct their propaganda more subtly and covertly, but here they want to shift all the blame for the continuation of the war to the United States, which is no longer done politically subtly.
Beijing is particularly concerned that America and its European allies are increasing sanctions against the Russian Federation and providing military aid to Ukraine. But, if all that did not happen, then, they say, it is possible to reach a compromise with Putin regarding Ukraine. A compromise, according to which, of course, Russia completely annexes Ukrainian lands and turns Ukraine into its illegal province.
Furthermore, an influential Chinese publication quotes the words of one of the propagandists of the Xi Jinping regime, Zhang Tengjun, deputy director of the Department of Asia-Pacific Studies of the China Institute of International Studies, that "Mainstream Democrats put the interests of the election higher than the importance of properly resolving the Ukraine crisis."
Now the Chinese side is accusing the American Democrats of avoiding "a proper solution to the Ukrainian crisis". It is as if Beijing does not have information about all the crimes committed by Russian terrorist troops in the occupied Ukrainian territories. Despite the fact that Zhang Tengjun does not further reveal what this "correct solution" actually means, only one thing emerges from what he said - finally give Ukraine to Moscow to tear it apart and peace and tranquility will reign in the world. Well, everything is very simple and predictable, do not interfere with our political vassal Putin to carry out his "special operation" and then no one will have any problems.
The Global Times is convinced that "as long as anti-Russian and pro-Ukrainian political correctness continues to dominate American politics and as long as American politicians continue to view political naivety as political freedom, the US will lack the pragmatic thinking necessary for diplomatic negotiations." When the voices of pragmatism and rationality are suppressed, the United States cannot play a fair role in the Russian-Ukrainian issue and assume the responsibility it should have."
From this it follows that the USA does not have the Chinese "pragmatic thinking for diplomatic negotiations", leading by which one should simply forget about some kind of Ukraine, its people and the atrocities of the Russians on the territories they occupied. But to start a dialogue with Putin, during which it is necessary not only to hear all his imperial demands regarding the neighboring country, but also to fulfill all the crazy whims of the dictator. And then the war will end and peace will come.
I wonder if Beijing itself would agree to such peacemaking if all this concerned the Chinese themselves?.  Of course not. So why does the People's Republic of China believe that it is possible to impose such things on others, thinking that it can all pass.
But what is most impressive is the end of the article in the Global Times, which summarizes: "This means that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will be more difficult to resolve, because it is not just a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but a concentrated conflict the outbreak of geopolitical conflicts that Russia has with NATO led by the United States. The US, the initiator of the conflict, must show some sincerity and promote some effective measures. If they do not take advantage of the favorable moment, it is difficult to predict how this crisis will develop in the future."

In their effort to gain the favor of the current Chinese leader Xi Jinping, the authors of the text turn everything upside down. They are seriously trying to claim that it is not the Russian Federation, but the United States of America that is the "starter of the conflict". The "impartiality" of the approach of the Chinese is simply astounding, so why didn't they use the formula of the Belarusian tyrant Lukashenka, who declared at the beginning of the war that Ukraine would attack Belarus, and NATO was planning an attack on Russia. Therefore, Moscow was allegedly forced to act in advance.
Although for some reason in China they forgot about another absurd option, which could be at the end of this text. For example, "there was absolutely reliable information that Ukraine, together with NATO, is preparing to resolve the global geopolitical conflict. The Ukrainians, at the behest of Washington, were supposed to insidiously carry out a series of provocations on the territory of the Russian Federation. And only the vigilance and professionalism of the FSB helped to reveal the preparations for them in time. Therefore, Putin was simply forced to enter the territory of Ukraine with his troops. The Russian army acted in advance, and if the US and Great Britain had not intervened, the special operation would have ended a long time ago and not everyone would have mentioned the conflict in Ukraine for a long time.
In conclusion, I would like to draw attention to the cartoon provided for this article by the Global Times newspaper. It was made in the style of the political and humorous Soviet magazine "Crocodile" from the 50s-70s of the last century. What readers should be able to understand is that it is America's Uncle Sam who is helping to fuel the conflict with his "criminal military aid to Ukraine."
And the clown cap on the kettle, in the colors of the Ukrainian national flag, which should emphasize that nothing depends on Ukraine in the war, is a direct insult to every citizen of Ukraine, who will see how China really treats Ukraine and its state sovereignty.
It is hard to believe that such a caricature of Chinese state symbols could appear in the Ukrainian mass media. But if China believes that this is normal and permissible in interstate relations, then they are very much mistaken.
