78 million dollars in allied support from the United States for the modernization, equipping and development of the Army’s capacities

The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia to receive 78 million dollars US support in the development of its capacities, modernization, equipping and the development of cyber defence capacities. The US support is aimed at achieving NATO’s capability goals and increasing interoperability with the US armed forces and Alliance members. The membership in NATO is yet another catalyst for an even stronger cooperation between allies such as North Macedonia and the United States, thus strengthening the collective defence of the Alliance.

The United States is our long-term strategic partner in the development of military capabilities. These 78 million dollars are significant support in the development of capacities, taking into account that in the past 30 years, through the program of international military support, the United States has donated military equipment worth 160 million dollars.

The portfolio for cooperation with the United States is truly rich and comprehensive and includes training through the MIL-2-MIL program, exercise activities, non-kinetic training, i.e. assistance for CBRN, cyber, civil-military cooperation, development of medical facilities, education for administrative servants, soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers, a joint process of equipping and modernization through ten integrated project teams, teams and advisors with permanent residence in North Macedonia with the aim of providing assistance in the development of the defence, etc.
