11 MUNICIPALITIES SIGNED AGREEMENTS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS FROM THE TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FUND

Grant agreements have been signed as result of the fifth call for proposals for the FTD, providing $350,000 in support of 11 grants, covering over 15 sets of technical documentation. The grants will fund technical designs for selected utility, transportation, social and environmental infrastructure projects to best meet the needs of citizens. These plans will lay the foundation for projects that bring real benefits to local communities.

The Resident Representative of the United Nations Armen Grigoryan said that by the end of the current second phase of the project, about 3 million US dollars will be invested in the preparation of over 130 sets of technical documentation. "So far, the project has supported 90 such sets. We are pleased that on the basis of these projects, municipalities have realized financing for many of them through various national and international funding mechanisms."

The agreements were signed by the mayors of the municipalities - winners of the open call: Gradsko, Krusevo, Makedonski Brod, Novaci, Pehchevo, Studenicani, Tearce, Chashka, Chair, Ohrid and Shtip.

The project "Building Municipal Capacities for Project Implementation" is implemented by UNDP with the financial support of the Sweden and the Bureau for Regional Development. Partners in the project are the Ministry of Local Self-Government and ZELS.
