Trained 300 caregivers to care for 900 elderly people in their homes

With the Social Services Improvement Project, 300 carers will provide care to 900 seniors over the age of 65 in their homes.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy states that this social reform envisages the realization of social services such as assistance and care in the home for the elderly and the provision of services in the Day Care Center for Persons with Disabilities. Children with disabilities in the Day Care Centers will receive group, individual and occupational therapy. In addition to working with people with disabilities, counseling and workshops are provided with parents in order for them to more easily deal with their children at home.

"Social reform is one of the key in the social protection system whose strategic goal is to provide fundamental changes in strengthening human capital, reducing poverty and raising the quality of life in the country. "This reform also gives concrete results, provides new social services for the beneficiaries and creates new jobs, including for those citizens from vulnerable categories," said the Ministry.

As part of the project to improve social services, implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, with the support of the World Bank, we are lowering social services to the local level, in order to make them accessible to the most remote places of residence.

So far, 19 grant agreements have been concluded through the project, which include projects in 24 municipalities.
