Ambassador Reinke presided over the donation of state-of-the-art interdiction equipment to Montenegrin Border Police

On September 12, 2022, Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke presided over the donation of state-of-the-art interdiction equipment to Montenegrin Border Police as part of its Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program.  Valued at approximately $100,000, the donation consists of videoscope inspection system, contraband detector, night and day vision binoculars, thermal imager cameras, GPSs, spotlights, flashlights, as well as tactical clothing for all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operators.

Since the program began in 2006, the program has provided the Montenegrin Border Police with over $3 million in training, equipment, and support to promote the development of effective border security capabilities.  EXBS continues to partner with the Border Police to strengthen border interdiction capacities and assist Montenegro in aligning its border-control processes with EU and international standards.  The equipment being donated, coupled with training on interdiction techniques that will follow later in 2023, are a testament of this continuous partnership.
