Work on the construction of the Eco-efficient building in Podgorica continues

The Public Works Administration in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, the Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Republic of Italy, in cooperation with PROCON, will continue works on the construction of Phase II of the Eco-building in Podgorica, located on Cetinje Road, near the Rectorate. The works will be performed by the Austrian company Strabag, which was selected in a tender, and with which Boro Lucic, director of the Public Works Administration, signed a contract today.

The signing of the contract was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Ratko Mitrović.

The value of the offer is almost 15 million euros, and the deadline for completion of works is 18 months from the introduction of the contractor.

"I am glad that, after the break, today we continue working on the construction of the Eco-efficient building in Podgorica, which is a tangible proof of our commitment to preserving the environment and building facilities that are energy efficient." I expect that the works will be completed within the planned deadline ", said Minister Mitrović. He added that this is just the beginning of the realization of large, capital projects that await us, because the construction of two clinics is planned - for infectious and mental diseases, city hospital, schools , kindergartens.

"We are ending this calendar year with another important agreement on the construction of an eco-building, which should be a signpost and an example of any future construction in Montenegro." As of next year, over 100 projects await us and Montenegro will be one big construction site. We are building Montenegro for future generations ", said Boro Lučić.

The eco-efficient building will be the seat of the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism and the Ecology Unit of the University of Montenegro.

The project of construction of the Eco-efficient building is financed from the Montenegrin-Italian financial instrument for environmental protection (EMIF - Environment Montenegrin-Italian Facility), established with the aim of promoting environmental values and policies through bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
