Vrbovec got a 39 meter high water tower

The "Gornjak" water tower in Vrbovac is part of the "Regional Water Supply System of Zagreb County - Zagreb East" project, which is a public investment project and relates to the construction of the Kosnica water pumping station and the reconstruction and construction of the water supply system in the eastern part of Zagreb County.
The construction of the water tower lasted four months, and it was delivered to the construction site in parts and assembled in a horizontal position. After welding all the steel parts of the water tower column and the dome, it was lifted with the help of two large cranes, one of which (the main one) has a lifting capacity of 500 tons.
The construction of the water tower in Gornji Tkalac itself is 39 meters high and more than 40 tons of steel are built into it. The total weight of the water tower is estimated at around 60 tons.
The volume of the water tower is 200 m3 and it will be the backbone of the newly built water supply system in the eastern part of the town of Vrbovec, enabling further expansion of the water supply network.
With the expansion of the water supply network (through the second phase), the need for a water tower will be greater because consumption in the system will be greater. The pressure in the water distribution network will also be higher, regardless of the rest of the system.
The construction of the water tower was contracted for HRK 4.6 million without VAT, and the main purpose of the project is to ensure high quality drinking water intended for human consumption in order to increase connection to the water supply network, reduce losses and increase the reliability of supply and the efficiency of the public water supply system.
As a reminder, the project "Regional Water Supply System of Zagreb County - Zagreb East" is worth HRK 883.8 million including VAT, and eligible costs are HRK 707.1 million, of which HRK 483.9 million are non-refundable EU funds. The remaining HRK 223.1 million in the project was provided by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and Croatian Water (HRK 89.2 million each) and the local level (HRK 44.6 million).
The project envisages the construction of 5 water towers (Gornjak, Preseka, Haganj, Dubrava and Kabel), of which, in addition to the "Gornjak" water tower installed today, the 44-meter high "Preseka" water tower was also built in Preseka last November.
