The European Union and UNDP launch a call for proposals for the clusters of Ungheni and Cahul regions

The European Union offers €800,000 for eight entities of Cahul and Ungheni regions, to support clustering initiatives. The non-reimbursable assistance aims to promoting and encouraging the cooperation spirit among the companies from urban and rural areas by supporting innovative ideas and the creation of new jobs. The grants are awarded by the European Union through the “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Programme implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.  

The “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Programme envisages to support and improve the businesses of Cahul and Ungheni, incentivise the existing companies towards cooperation based on value chains as part of clusters, and encourage investments opportunities in the region.

Up to eight non-commercial entities registered and active in one of the districts of Cahul or Ungheni, selected during the call for proposals, will benefit from financial assistance not exceeding €100,000 per project, with a contribution of at least 10 % of the total value of the proposal.   

The financial assistance will be allocated for the procurement of equipment, goods, works, and services for the acceleration and development of the existing clusters from urban and rural areas.

The deadline for submitting the files is 8 August 2022, at 17:00 (GMT+3:00).

The “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Programme (2019-2024) supports intelligent, inclusive and sustainable social-economic development in the regions of Cahul and Ungheni to ensure better standards of living to the citizens. The programme has a total budget of €23 million, is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
