The EU together with UNDP and partners marked the completion of interventions at ‘Sahat Kulla’
The European Union Office in Kosovo together with the UNDP Kosovo and the Municipality of Prishtinë/Priština held an event to mark the completion of the physical interventions at the “Sahat Kulla” (Clock Tower) in Prishtinë/Priština – a prominent cultural heritage monument in the capital.
The intervention for the revival of the ‘Sahat Kulla’ is a co-financing endeavor of the European Union’s Service for Foreign Policy Instrument (FPI), the Municipality of Prishtinë/Priština and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of the ‘Cultural Heritage as a Driver for Intercommunity Dialogue and Social Cohesion”, project.
The physical intervention of the ‘Sahat Kulla’ included repairs of the clock mechanism, interior stairs, walls and stone treatment, placements of lighting system, etc.
‘Sahat Kulla’ is built in the 19th century and is one of the most remarkable monuments in the heart of the city and holds significant cultural, historical and architectural value for Prishtinë/Priština.
