State Secretary Mikulić in Osijek handed over four contracts with a total value of 4.65 million euros

Contracts were awarded from the Interreg IPA Croatia-Serbia 2021 - 2027 Program for projects in which Osijek-Baranja County is the leading partner.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds Domagoj Mikulić in Osijek handed over four contracts with a total value of 4.65 million euros from the Interreg IPA Croatia-Serbia 2021 - 2027 Program for projects in which Osijek-Baranja County is the leading partner. Contracts were handed over to the Agricultural Institute Osijek, the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, the Municipality of Ernestinovo and the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek for projects that will be implemented with project partners from Serbia.
"The aim of the program is to encourage and support cross-border cooperation between Croatia and Serbia so that this area, which includes four Croatian counties and five districts in Serbia and a total of 2.1 million inhabitants, becomes more resilient to common challenges. I congratulate all partners on quality projects and wish them much success in their implementation", said State Secretary Mikulić during the handing over of the contract.
The Osijek Agricultural Institute and its partner, the Novi Sad Agricultural and Vegetable Institute, will implement the NET4DINAR project, which aims to improve existing agricultural research capacities in the region by combining a collaborative regional research platform based on two organizations with the most modern technological solutions. This will enable the implementation of cutting-edge science and breeding that contribute to a greener economy and adaptation to climate change. The total value of the project is EUR 369,697.36, of which EU grants amount to EUR 314,242.75.
Through the ABIDERS project, the Medical Faculty of Osijek and the Scientific Institute for Food Technologies from Novi Sad will expand scientific knowledge in the field of medicine and establish a new and sustainable scientific cooperation between a higher education institution from Croatia and a scientific institute from Serbia, while acquiring and promoting new knowledge about antitumor drugs. The total value of the project is 286,702.54 euros, of which non-reimbursable EU funds amount to 243,697.15 euros.
Through the INNATUS project, which will be implemented by the Municipality of Ernestinovo and the National Council of the Croatian National Minority, the Center for Creative Children will be built and equipped in Ernestinovo, while the Center for Interactive Culture will be adapted in Subotica. In addition, NATUS, a network of naive art and sustainable tourism that includes 20 stakeholders, including partner projects, will be established with the aim of strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in the area of Ernestinovo and Subotica. The total value of the project is EUR 3,077,933.31, of which EU grants amount to EUR 1,499,629.50.

 

The Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences and the Provincial Institute for Nature Protection of the Educons University in Sremska Kamenica will implement the ECO(RE)ACT project with the aim of establishing a comprehensive system for solving the issue of plastics and microplastics in ecosystems, contributing to climate change adaptation. The total value of the project is EUR 919,365.56, of which EU grants amount to EUR 781,460.72.
