Slavonski Brod: An interpretation center dedicated to tambura music is being arranged at Tvrđava in the EU project

After the completion of the infrastructure works on the northern part of the Western Cavalier of the Brod Fortress, the renovation of the renovated spaces is currently underway in order to transform them into an interactive interpretation center dedicated to traditional tambura music and traditional Croatian musical instruments.

The renovated premises will thus become another important part of the tourist offer of the town of Slavonski Brod.

Let us remind you that in 2020 the City of Slavonski Brod continued the construction of the Tambourine House, which will soon be, the City Administration points out, the only monument in the entire world dedicated to a traditional instrument, that is, the Slavonian tambourine. The project is currently in the stage of furnishing the interior with a total value of five million kuna, which was preceded by infrastructure works for the reconstruction of the building with a total value of 27.4 million kuna, whereby 85 percent of the amount was "covered" by the funds of the European Union.

The furnishing project of the House of Tambura includes audio-visual solutions and a museum display (the traditional musical instrument will be interpreted in the experience of sound and space), a master's workshop with an exhibition space, a souvenir shop as well as a reading room, and a multipurpose concert hall for tambura and folklore competitions, seminars, concerts, festivals and other events, and upon completion of the project, Tambur House will become a contemporary multimedia interpretation center dedicated to the traditional instrument, which will create innovative cultural and artistic, educational and other content, according to the project.

Partners in the project are the Development Agency of the City of Slavonski Brod and the Tourist Board of the City of Slavonski Brod. The project "House of tambourines - Slavonic sheet music - furnishing" was co-financed with grants from EU funds.

The amount of EU grants for this project is EUR 564,071.94 (HRK 4,250,000.00), while the total value of the project is EUR 663,614.14 (HRK 5,000,000.77). (City of Slavonski Brod/PL)
