SCINERGY: PROJECT LINKING BUSINESS WITH SCIENCE IN CROATIA

November the 14th, 2023 – Yet another praiseworthy project has now been launched, the aim of which is to strengthen cooperation between science and business. Meet Scinergy.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Scinergy will be implemented here in Croatia by the Nikola Tesla Innovation Centre (ICENT) through its Nuqleus programme. It will also enjoy the full support of the Ministry of Science and Education.

Through Scinergy, there will be a careful pairing of scientists and those from the world of business, and everything should result in the creation of innovative projects. ICENT explains that it is a pilot of a global project of the European Commission (EC), which is currently being implemented by the World Bank in cooperation with international partners the London Business School (LBS) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This European project will now be tested out right here in the Republic of Croatia and then adapted for the most successful further global application.

THE COMMERCIALISATION OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

“The goal of the Scinergy project is to enable scientists from all over Croatia to commercialise the results of their scientific research. It’s also to provide companies with access to the expertise of those scientists and the scientific infrastructure necessary for the improvement of existing products, as well as the development of new products and services,” Matija Srbič, coordinator of the Nuqleus programme, explained.

Through the Scinergy project, he explained, there will be a careful pairing and connection of scientists and their specific research with companies and their specific needs for scientific expertise.

Nuqleus has therefore invited all interested scientists and companies to apply for participation in the project. Scientists can apply until November the 26th, and companies have until January the 21st, 2024. ICENT has emphasised that participation in the project is entirely free. The merging of scientists and enterprises across Croatia is set to take place at a two-day event scheduled for February 2024.
