Opening of works on the waste water drainage system of Ivanić Grad worth 36.4 million euros
In Ivanić Grad, work has begun on the waste water drainage system of Ivanić Grad as part of the EU project "Development of the water utility infrastructure of the Ivanić Grad agglomeration" worth 47.5 million euros, of which 25 million euros are grants from the EU Cohesion Fund.
The opening of the works was attended by: Director of the Directorate of Water Management and Sea Protection Elizabeta Kos, Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County Damir Tomljenović, General Director of Croatian Waters Zoran Đuroković with Deputy Davor Vukmirić, Mayor of Ivanić City Javor Bojan Leš and Director of Water Supply and Drainage of Zagreb County Tomislav Masten.
The project includes investments in the wastewater drainage system in the area of the Town of Ivanić-Grad and part of the Municipality of Kloštar Ivanić. The project plans to build a distribution system of public drainage in the settlements of Caginec, Deanovec, Derežani, Donji Šarampov, Graberje Ivanićko (part of the settlement), Ivanić-Grad (parts without a constructed sewage system), Jelševac Breški, Lepšić, Opatinec, Posavski Bregi, Prkos Ivanićki, Šumećani, Tarno, Kloštar Ivanić and Sobočani.
"Citizens will really feel the benefit of these projects. Namely, at the moment we have some 10,000 connected to the drainage system with an inadequate treatment system. This will rise to almost 17,000 citizens of this area. With some 55% connected, we will reach 95%. We can say that this area is so well designed and that it will be the standard of the 21st century," said Zoran Đurković, director of Hrvatske vode.
The works will include the reconstruction, rehabilitation and improvement of the existing drainage system (construction of 3 rain overflows, construction of 4 retention basins, reconstruction of 2,884 m of collectors and rehabilitation of CIPP ("Cure In Place Pipe") using the method of 2,475 m of collectors and 59 manholes) and works on the construction of a new drainage system (construction of 66,216 m of gravity collectors, construction of 4,803 m of pressure collectors, construction of 19 pumping stations and construction of 1,769 preparations for household connections).
"This project is one of 60 projects that we finance from the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020. I must say that out of a total of 7 active projects, even 4 are under the authority of Water Supply and Drainage of the Zagreb County. And this shows the great success of these people," said Elizabeta Kos, director of the Water Management and Sea Protection Administration.
In addition to these works, reconstruction and rehabilitation, finally, meeting the required level of wastewater treatment will be achieved with the construction of UPOV III. degree of purification and appropriate capacity.
