MPNI: The IAEA provided 1.3 million euros for a PET/CT scanner for Montenegro
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed its readiness to support the PET/CT scanner procurement project for Montenegro in the amount of around 1.3 million euros, while the Montenegrin side expressed its special commitment to the project and its determination to provide 700,000 euros in 2025 for co-financing of the same.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health is working on finalizing the technical documentation for the facility of the Hematology Clinic where the PET/CT scanner will be located.
It is expected that Montenegro will fulfill the administrative procedures by the end of the current year, in order to enter the necessary procedures from the beginning of 2025 to create the prerequisites for the procurement of this modern diagnostic equipment.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation coordinates the cooperation between Montenegro and the IAEA and in this sense will continue to provide support to all national institutions in finding the best directions for cooperation with the Agency and using opportunities within national, regional and interregional projects.
