Kadyrov and Zolotov win. Who will make the most of the events at Makhachkala Airport

The riots at the airport in Makhachkala played into the hands of several figures in Russian politics, according to analyst Ihar Tishkevich. Among them, the former head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the commander of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov.
The case of Makhachkala — will it be a "black swan"?
Or the interests of three Russian politicians converged.
Most had the opportunity to follow the events in which a crowd stormed the airport in Makhachkala "in search of Jews". And the surprising reaction of the Russian security forces. Who, at first as a resistance to the crowd, a little later simply gave in and in the end "went about their business" - among the raiders. Moreover, the riots at the airport started around 19:00, and the first arrests at the airport took place after 22:00. And all this happened in a region where numerous security forces are concentrated. And only after 22:50, the column with reinforcements and equipment advanced from Kasaviurt towards Makhachkala.
The Russian media, of course, found the culprits — Ukraine's IPSO (information-psychological special operations service). And even for "riot coordination" - using a number of Telegram channels. But if this version is to be believed, it opens up a series of unpleasant questions.
If this was done by IPSO, then such an operation could be successful when there is a social base, when its organizers know the region and mood very well. But the Russian authorities have no information.
If it is a matter of IPSO and coordination, then it turns out that the Russian special services slept through the creation, expansion and operation of an underground network in a security-unstable region.
If this is IPSO and an organized action, then the reaction of the security forces in the first hours of the unrest seems rather strange. After all, no one prevented the crowd from inspecting the cars, the curtain of the Russian Guard was simply drawn when the crowd began to break the fence at the airport and many other details.
At first glance, we get a picture of destabilization in the Caucasus and problems in the Russian government. Given the specificity (and geography) of the region, it would be logical to hear Ramzan Kadyrov's comment on the background of the riots - he does not miss less important events. But there is information about an alleged social media post by his son Adem calling for Jews to leave the Caucasus. Dad is silent.
And here it is appropriate to mention two more pieces of news:
Information on the transfer of heavy weapons to the Kadirs (mainly the Russian Guard).
The creation of two new battalions, which will bear the names of Sheikh Mansur and Baisangur Benojevsky. Both were leaders of the struggle of the Caucasian peoples (not only Chechnya, but also a large part of Dagestan) against Russia.
Kadyrov is getting stronger. Moreover, he strengthens his position by playing on the moods of the residents of the region. He is trying to play on regional patriotism.
If you combine these two news streams, it turns out that the unrest in Makhachkala is beneficial to this character. Putin needs a controlled "Guardian of the Caucasus". And Kadyrov fits this role.
From 2022, Kadyrov really wanted to strengthen his position. Let's recall Prigozhin's simultaneous criticism of the military leadership of the Russian Federation. But it was not possible to become a "military leader", nor to enter as an equal participant in one of the towers of the Kremlin - the status of "representative" is still lower. And here is the status of "watching over the Caucasus", admittedly new, but significant.
And, finally, the quiet work of Zolotov to strengthen his influence. We remind you that Kadyrov has largely withdrawn from the public since the Russian Federation faced problems on the front. But even against the background of the escape of Russian units, he did not forget to promote some units of the "heroic riot police, RG". Allegedly, the troops were fleeing and his units were "standing to the last". Kadyrov, besides being directly subordinate to Putin, depends on Zolotov. Strengthening Kadyrov — strengthening the position of the commander of the Russian Guard. Kadyrov's heavy weapons = heavy weapons of the Russian Guard.
Three lines of interest converged.
So it won't be too much of a surprise if in the next few weeks Ramzan Kadyrov starts talking a lot more about the Caucasus being a difficult but patriotic region. And that there, they say, he and only he can ensure order.
