In the County of Sisak-Moslovakia, the first kindergarten is being built in the Municipality of Martinska Ves, financed by EU funds
In the settlement of Strelečko, the construction of the first kindergarten in the area of Martinska Ves municipality began. The construction is financed from the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia for the period 2014-2020, and the value of the works is EUR 767,647.49.
The County of Sisak-Moslavina is involved in almost every project in the area of the County, said Prefect Ivan Celjak: "We are also involved in this project. Unfortunately, it turned out that the implementation was more expensive than the funds provided by the Municipality through the Ministry of Agriculture, so we provided €100,000 for the construction of this kindergarten. We know that there is a great need for kindergartens in the area of the entire Sisak-Moslavina County. The Government of the Republic of Croatia also recognized this, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funds were provided for the construction of new kindergartens. What is being introduced is that the Government bears the cost of placing a child in a kindergarten, which will significantly relieve local self-government units, as the founders of kindergartens, and will also enable the expansion of kindergarten capacities."
The fact that it is the first kindergarten in the municipality speaks volumes about the importance of this project for the residents, said Mayor Stjepan Ivoš. The parents managed in different ways, in which they were also helped by the Municipality with HRK 1,000 per child, but it did not have the capacity for a kindergarten. Ivoš also announced the possibility of establishing a kindergarten group in Martinska Vesa itself.
Mayor Celjak also spoke about the Sisak-Moslavina County project in Sisak: "In addition to helping local self-government units in the construction of kindergartens, we also launched a county kindergarten pilot project and are building our first kindergarten in the complex at Rimska 19 in Sisak. We will have a kindergarten there for 47 children. At the moment, the building has been erected, the construction is finished and we expect that the kindergarten will be finished next year and that we will provide capacity and excellent conditions for Sisak's kindergarteners. In this pilot project, we intend to provide an enhanced program of foreign language, sports, mathematics, and musical culture. This will give us the best conditions for the preschool education of our children."
