Improving Crafts in Montenegro Through Innovations

The Craftinno project aims to increase the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises in the field of crafts in Montenegro through education and support in introducing innovations in the production process in ten small businesses from Nikšić, Podgorica and Ulcinj.

Info day on support programs implemented by the Municipality of Nikšić for the development of entrepreneurship in Nikšić was organized today as part of the project "Innovative sustainable technologies for the economic improvement of crafts - Craftinno" implemented by IPC Tehnopolis in partnership with the Municipality of Nikšić, with the support of the Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for You - Montenegro".

"It is a great pleasure and honor to have the opportunity to express my gratitude on behalf of the Municipality of Nikšić for the opportunity to offer our fellow citizens the opportunity for new creativity and jointly encourage the development of entrepreneurial spirit in our city," the Chief Administrator of Nikšić and Head of the Local Commission for the distribution of funds to support women's entrepreneurship Biljana Vučurović said.

This Info Day is the first of three that will be organized to acquaint the beneficiaries of the Craftinno project with the possibilities for financing the development of small businesses in Montenegro. Thanks to their participation in the project, they will acquire the knowledge and skills to improve production through theoretical and practical training: three pieces of training in the field of 3D modeling and printing and four pieces of training in programming and control of CNC machines. Upon completion of the training, they will receive the support of project partners for 12 months in order to continue to improve the acquired knowledge and its application in the production process. Also, during the Crafts Fair that will take place in November 2022, small businesses participating in the project will have the opportunity to present innovative products and products obtained by innovative production processes.

“The Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro" contributes to the development and growth of small businesses in Montenegro, by improving competitiveness through their transformation with the support of ecosystems of stakeholders. In the second phase, the project continues to support the development of small businesses in the territory of Nikšić, especially the introduction of innovations," the "Norway for You - Montenegro" Project Manager Armen Čekić said.

The Craftinno project aims to increase the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises in the field of crafts in Montenegro through education and support in introducing innovations in the production process in ten small businesses from Nikšić, Podgorica, and Ulcinj, as well as informing them about potential sources of funding for the development of entrepreneurship. Through this project, IPC Tehnopolis and the Municipality of Nikšić are also working on improving their own services that provide support for small business operations and the development of an innovative ecosystem in Nikšić and Montenegro.
