Čakovec: 780 packages of humanitarian aid were distributed to the citizens who need it most
The City Society of the Red Cross Čakovec is the holder of the project "Humanitarian package for Međimurje", co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Program for Food and Basic Material Assistance for the period 2014-2020 from the European Aid Fund for the Most Deprived (FEAD).
It is about the distribution of humanitarian aid to the citizens who need it most, and all of them will receive hygiene and food packages worth 600 kuna per household member. Five divisions will be organized in the entire Međimurje County, during which 18904 food packages and 4726 hygiene packages will be prepared.
The first division was organized on Wednesday, July 7, in the area of the City of Čakovec. In the town of Čakovec itself, 150 packages were distributed in the premises of the Red Cross, while 630 packages were distributed in the yard of the Family Center in Kuršanec. In the first distribution, users received hygiene packages, while the next distribution, the one with food packages, will be organized at the end of July this year.
In addition to volunteers from the City Society of the Red Cross Čakovec, members of the Association of Croatian Homeland War Veterans Treated for PTSD in Međimurje County, who are regularly of great help in similar humanitarian actions, also participated in the organization of the distribution.
