Adžić: The new border crossing increases security and reduces waiting

Today, the new border crossing Ranche in Pljevlje was officially opened, for international road passenger and goods traffic between Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia, on the road Pljevlja - Prijepolje.
Addressing the ceremonial opening of the modern Ranche border crossing, Interior Minister Filip Adžić said that it is a project that will contribute to easier crossing of the state border, efficiency of work of the Border Police and better suppression of all types of cross-border crime. In this way, we show that we contribute to the aspirations to make our borders safe, in accordance with the standards of the European Union and Schengen, said the minister.
With great gratitude to our European partners, who enabled the realization of this project, I would like to emphasize that the opening of the new border crossing will additionally contribute to the reduction of the waiting time and the acceleration of border control procedures, which will have a positive impact on both security and the development of tourism.
The head of the Department for Cooperation in the Delegation of the European Union, Ingve Engstrom, spoke at the ceremony, who pointed out that the EU contributed 2.5 million euros to the reconstruction of this border crossing, and that this project represents a concrete example of how EU funds help Montenegro modernize, and in benefit of citizens. The improvement of the border infrastructure is part of the EU's efforts to support Montenegro in its efforts to improve border surveillance and the detection and prevention of crime. Montenegro is an important partner in solving migration challenges, and can count on further support from the European Union in terms of migration and border management.
