"About 10.5 million euros allocated by the EU for Montenegrin partners within the framework of cooperation programs with Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina."

"Altogether, 36 Montenegrin institutions and organizations will participate in implementing 29 projects supported within the First Call for Proposals of the Interreg IPA VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021-2027 cross-border cooperation program.
 
As announced from the meeting of the Programme Monitoring Committee held in Mostar, the total value of Montenegrin institutions and organizations' participation in the projects amounts to around 12.5 million euros, of which approximately 10.5 million euros represent non-refundable EU funds.
 
Out of the 29 projects, three Montenegrin institutions will lead projects as lead partners, namely the Municipality of Tuzi (To 0 Waste project), the Institute of Marine Biology of the University of Montenegro (BLUECONNECT project), and the General Hospital "Blažo Orlandić" in Bar (PATODIGITAL project).
 
Other entities from Montenegro will participate as project partners. Under the specific objective related to research and innovation, the aforementioned Institute of Marine Biology and the Chamber of Commerce are supported (BLUECONNECT project), as well as the University of Montenegro - Faculty of Maritime Studies (MARROBO), the Municipality of Tuzi (CROSSMART), the University of Montenegro - Faculty of Maritime Studies and the Innovation Fund (ROBONETCBC), ICT Cortex (CBC GAIN), and IPC Tehnopolis (CODES)."
 
"In the field of climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, support has been provided to the Hydrometeorological and Seismological Institute and the Environmental Protection Agency (SMART-Water), the Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Herceg Novi (WATERLINK), the Environmental Protection Agency (AllerShield), the Public Enterprise Morsko Dobro (ClimBeach), and the Ministry of Interior - Directorate for Protection and Rescue (LADY).
 
In projects related to health and social care, funding has been allocated to the Institute of Public Health and the Health Center Tivat (Before Time), the Health Center Tivat (RISE-UP), the Emergency Medical Service (RACE 2), the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities Podgorica (HEARTS), and the General Hospital Bar for the projects DIGIHEALTH and the aforementioned PATODIGITAL, where this healthcare institution is the lead partner.
 
Regarding the tourism and culture sector, the supported projects involve the Municipality of Bar and the Municipality of Ulcinj (GIFTSnet), the Royal Capital Cetinje (REVERS), Morsko Dobro (GREENPULSE), the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi (SUSTOUR), and the National Parks of Montenegro and the Center for Bird Protection and Study (PA.CON II)."
 
"At the previous meeting of the Monitoring Committee, projects focused on two specific objectives were approved. In the area of energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission reduction, support was provided to IPC Tehnopolis (SMART DeCARB project), the Municipality of Tivat (APOLLO), and the Municipality of Herceg Novi (SINERGY). In the field of transitioning to a circular economy that effectively utilizes resources, the aforementioned Municipality of Tuzi (To 0 Waste), the Municipality of Ulcinj (R10D3), the Municipality of Zeta and Čistoća d.o.o. Podgorica (RECIRCLE), and Komunalno Kotor (CircleAware) received support.
 
A total of 33 projects were approved within the First Call (24 at the last meeting), involving 142 partners from all three countries in their implementation. The complete list of approved projects can be downloaded here. It is expected that the projects will commence implementation in the second half of this year.
 
The Interreg VI-A IPA program Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro represents a continuation of the previous, highly successful cross-border cooperation program between the three countries, implemented within the financial framework of 2021-2027. The program area in Montenegro encompasses the Capital City of Podgorica, the Royal Capital of Cetinje, and the municipalities of Bar, Budva, Danilovgrad, Herceg Novi, Kotor, Nikšić, Tivat, Tuzi, Ulcinj, and Zeta."
