22 contracts worth 489 million euros were awarded from the National Program for Public Procurement for 2021-2026.

In Osijek, a total of 22 Grant Agreements worth 489.1 million euros were ceremonially awarded, out of which 289 million euros are EU grants.
 
Among these, 18 agreements are for water utility projects, comprising 8 agreements for Small Interventions and 10 agreements for agglomerations, while 4 agreements are for disaster risk reduction projects.
 
In addition to the Grant Agreements, Co-financing Agreements are also being awarded to regulate the share of co-financing of the national component of projects between Croatian Waters and public water service providers, who are also the applicants and beneficiaries of the projects, as well as partners in project co-financing.
 
The agreements were handed over to public water service providers by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Damir Habijan, and the Director-General of Croatian Waters, Zoran Đuroković.
 
These agreements stem from the Mechanism for Recovery and Resilience through activities within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 (NRRP) to finance the implementation of investment projects in the public water supply and public sewerage systems.
With the 18 water utility projects, a total of 285.33 km of public water supply systems will be constructed or reconstructed, enabling improved access to water supply for 32,024 residents. Additionally, 623.95 km of public sewerage systems and 12 wastewater treatment plants will be constructed or reconstructed, providing improved access to wastewater treatment systems for 77,425 residents.
 
Regarding the 4 disaster risk reduction projects, a total of 8 construction contracts will be awarded by 2026 for flood protection projects. This will involve constructing or reconstructing a total of 54.32 km of flood protection structures, thereby enhancing flood protection measures for a total of 9,089 residents.
