The strategic project B Light 2 continues to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the border area with Hungary

A contract worth 10.8 million euros has been signed with HAMAG-BICRO for further support for the internationalization of business and the development of innovative solutions and services.
Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Nataša Mikuš Žigman, President of the Management Board of HAMAG-BICRO Vjeran Vrbanec and Deputy President of the Management Board Ante-Janko Bobetko signed today a contract worth 10.8 million euros for the implementation of the strategic project B Light 2, which is being implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Hungary - Croatia 2021 - 2027.
This is a continuation of a successful project from the previous financial perspective, which will further strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the border area of Croatia and Hungary, by stimulating innovation, sustainable growth and long-term economic development through cross-border cooperation.
The total value of the project is 10.8 million euros, of which 8.63 million euros is co-financed by European Union funds, and 7.5 million euros will be directed to SMEs for the implementation of innovation projects.
"HAMAG-BICRO is a proven partner in the implementation of strategic entrepreneurial cross-border projects, which encourage the internationalization of business and support the development of innovative solutions for our small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. This project will facilitate the creation of partnerships between companies on both sides of the border and support the joint development of new products, services and technologies, especially in rural areas, thereby contributing to increasing economic activity in these areas and reducing regional disparities," said Minister Mikuš Žigman, congratulating the partners from HAMAG-BICRO on another valuable contract.
In addition to HAMAG-BICRO, which is the Lead Partner in the project, four Croatian and three Hungarian entrepreneurship development agencies are also participating in the implementation as so-called territorial partners, while small and medium-sized enterprises are included in the project as so-called light partners, which implement joint innovation projects to stimulate cross-border trade and economic cooperation.

Based on the contract signed today, HAMAG-BICRO plans to launch the first call for entrepreneurs for co-financing of their projects in early 2026.
