The Netherlands helps Albania in the fight against fires, embassy: Two helicopters and 47 military help Albania

The Dutch Embassy in Tirana has decided to support Albania in the operation to neutralize the fires by sending 2 helicopters and 47 Dutch soldiers.

The news was announced by the Dutch embassy through a post on Facebook, where it states that the sent helicopters have a capacity of 10 liters of water that will help put out the fire.

"Albanian authorities have asked the EU and member states to help in the fight against fires, which are currently spreading in the south of Albania. In response, the Netherlands has decided to support Albania by sending two Chinook helicopters. Chinooks are equipped with special containers that can release 10 thousand liters of water to extinguish fires and are able to reach difficult places. It is important for the Netherlands to work side by side with the Albanian authorities to protect people as well as unique national parks. "Chinooks helicopters, along with 47 Dutch military, will arrive this Friday and will begin operations on Saturday ," the embassy wrote.
