The Food Safety Project launches work on two public Awareness Campaigns

The Food Safety Project in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) and National Food Authority (NFA) started work on two public awareness campaigns.

The first campaign is focused on getting consumers to inform themselves by reading labels before they buy food. Now that Order No. 434 ‘On Food Labelling and Consumer Information’ is approximated to European Union Law on provision of food information to consumers (EU Regulation 1169/2011) important details such as allergen information must be presented on the label in Albanian.

Using the slogan "Learn to read your food", this campaign will be aired on TV media channels, social media networks and in supermarkets through display of posters.

The second campaign is focused on raising awareness about the role of the newly established National Authority for Veterinary and Plant Protection.

The Food Safety Project (“Support to food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary standards”) is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by FSAI. The implementing group also includes the Finnish Food Authority, the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Creative Business Solutions (CBS) in Albania.
